The Fan Friendly Seal of Approval recognizes MLB Players for their generosity of spirit towards baseball
fans everywhere and for the player's recognition of the fans importance to the game. Place your vote
for the players you consider to be "Fan Friendly!"
The 2006 recipients of the Fan Friendly Seal of Approval are: |
 |
Craig Biggio
Not only has Craig Biggio played for 18 seasons, all have been with the Houston
Astros, a rare feat in the age of Free Agency. While with the organization he has willingly moved from
Catcher to Second Base to Centerfield and back to Second. As one of the most recognizable faces of the
Astros, Biggio regularly greets young fans with tireless energy as he travels around the country. |
 |
Mike Cameron
After 11 seasons playing for 4 different teams, Mike Cameron will join the San
Diego Padres in 2006. Quick with a gleaming smile, Cameron hasn't been caught refusing an autograph and
often will be seen wiggling a kids hat. He has won a number of "good guy" awards, but he really
is a gentleman of the game. New York fans will miss him. |
 |
Sean Casey
After 8 years in Cincinnati, 3 as an All-star, Sean Casey has earned the nickname
"The Mayor." He has never seen a hand he wouldn't shake or kid he wouldn't make time for. As
the news of his trade to Pittsburgh this off-season spread, so did the word of many of his generous endeavors
that had been long held secrets in Cincinnati. The Reds loss is truly the Pirates gain. |
 |
Luis Gonzalez
With a long career with 4 different teams, and 5 All-Star appearances, Luis Gonzalez
has earned a reputation for being extremely generous of spirit. Quick to toss a ball to a young fan, or
to sign an autograph at the hotel, there is not doubt that 'Gonzo' is one of the good guys. |
 |
Vance Wilson
Though Vance has spent most of his Major League time being a back-up to Mike Piazza and Ivan Rodriguez, he has often extended himself to the fans in the stands. Many a kid in Detroit and New York will tell you they have caught a ball he has tossed their way. Thanks, Vance, for thinking about the Fans! |
